He has written about the use of big data in the criminal justice system, searches of cell phones and other electronic devices, and hyper-intrusive surveillance devices. He has also written about the privatization of the criminal justice system and the role of the prosecutor.
have been a law professor since 2003, teaching Criminal Law, Evidence, Criminal Procedure, and Computer Crime. I am a co-author on four academic textbooks or hornbooks, and I have published a book about applying the Fourth Amendment to modern technologies. I have won my law school’s outstanding teaching award six times and I am the co-chair of the law school’s Teaching Innovation Group. I have also co-chaired four different law school committees and am regularly quoted in the media on criminal law issues.
