Tens of thousands of military officers throughout Latin America have been trained in counterinsurgency tactics by the U.S. Army. Some of the graduates of the School of the Americas — now called the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation — have been linked to grave human rights violations. On this program we take a look at the School of the Americas, and a broad-based movement of human rights activists and religious groups that’s organizing to shut down the institute.

Miller, Gelderloos, Sturgis, Rev. Johnson, and Father Vitale received prison sentences raning from 3 to 6 months for acts of civil disobedience at Fort Benning, Georgia.
